If you've dealt with Groveland's water outages and boil-water advisories, here's what changed Monday. At a special meeting, the city council advanced two funding measures worth about $26.76 million in potential water and wastewater improvements.
The sewer plan unlocks a state grant to cut down on inflow and infiltration, which is rainwater or groundwater getting into sewer lines through cracks and damaged pipes. The drinking-water deal could pay for upgrades to water mains, electrical equipment and computerized monitoring.
