- ➤ On November 10, a team of Goat Busters + 4-H volunteers rescued a pregnant goat named Rowling from a dense forest near State Road 19 after she escaped her temporary pen in freezing weather; the Stevens family later fostered her while a secure corral was built. South Lake Tablet
- ➤ In December, Clermont Garden Club loaned a Norfolk Island pine to the library and a poinsettia to City Hall to boost horticulture awareness. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lake Technical College and Lake County Schools are launching a new ESOL class for adults at Oak Park Middle School with sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting Jan. 13. The course costs $55 per semester and offers scholarships to help families improve English skills. South Lake Tablet
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ AdventHealth Minneola now offers whole-person care with services such as emergency, imaging, and surgery at a new hospital in South Lake County—serving local families and creating over 500 jobs. An adjacent medical office building is in progress to expand outpatient care. South Lake Tablet

- ➤ The South Lake High football team was honored by Groveland for its impressive 11-2 season (winning playoff games, district championships, and the Lake County Championship). The team defeated Lake Minneola and East Ridge in key wins. South Lake Tablet
