- ➤ Members of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting that opened the New Beginnings Village Transitional Homes (located at 415 Citrus Tower Blvd. in Clermont) today, as community leaders thanked supporters and marked a major step in providing fully furnished, affordable housing to help families rebuild. - ➤ The Green Swamp Chapter of Nam Knights Motorcycle Club is hosting its 12th Annual Toy Drive to collect new, unwrapped toys for local children and will serve a traditional Christmas dinner (turkey, ham, sides) to thank donors. - ➤ Walmart is seeking approval to start a drone delivery service in Clermont (following similar plans in Orlando). The company will begin operations once local officials grant the necessary permits. Fox 35 Orlando

- ➤ Clermont Fire Department is exploring an independent ambulance service to improve response times if the county does not partner, with a study showing six new units could cut delays from 17 to 10 minutes (first two units cost about $3M) after a stakeholder meeting on Dec. 8. News 6

- ➤ AdventHealth’s new Minneola hospital opens today at 1800 North Hancock Road (in South Lake County) providing emergency, surgical and specialty care as part of a $271 million investment. The 204,000 sqft facility with 80 beds is expected to add about 500 jobs to the community. Fox 35 Orlando
