- ➤ Lake County Fire Rescue and Mascotte invite residents to tour Fire Station 91 (746 Albrook St.) on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 9 am to noon. The event will include fire extinguisher demonstrations, apparatus displays, tours of Fire Station 39, and a building dedication honoring former fire chief Randy Brasher. South Lake Tablet
- ➤ The Neighborhood Center of South Lake announced three new board members — Mike Farrar, a construction leader; Jill Ganley, a marketing executive; and Tina Smith, an attorney with community ties — to help guide local programs. South Lake Tablet
- ➤ The Clermont Woman's Club hosted its annual Holiday Party at their clubhouse (655 W. Broome St.), where Elf-Helen and Helper-Judy collected toys that were later donated to the Clermont Fire Department for its Toys For Tots campaign. South Lake Tablet

- ➤ The Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce warned local businesses about fake flyers falsely promoting chamber-sponsored events; one local painter reported losing $82.40 after responding to an ad for a January event (multiple similar calls were received about the Christmas Walk). WESH

- ➤ AdventHealth Minneola will open its 200,000 sqft facility in Minneola tomorrow after a Dec. 7 ribbon cutting that showed off its digital features, including a 30-bed ER and a surgical wing. The new hospital is expected to create 500 local jobs. South Lake Tablet
