  • Montverde Academy’s NJHS members hosted a bake sale that raised $660 for the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation. During the Middle School assembly, officers Philip Tanis, Angelica Wolfe, and Kayden Brown presented a check — supporting local families facing cancer.  South Lake Tablet
  • Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is giving all its November register round-up money to Second Harvest Food Bank to help local families facing food shortages—shoppers in several counties can round up their purchases while Goodwill will match donations up to $10,000.  South Lake Tablet

CULTURE NEWS

  • Lake County Comic Convention will return for its fifth year on November 22 at Minneola City Hall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.—the event will feature comic creators such as Andres Labrada and Scott Reed, over sixty vendors, and cosplay contests with tickets available online or at the door. Fans will have the chance to shop, get autographs, and celebrate comics and anime at this lively event.  South Lake Tablet
