- ➤ Today, the Kiwanis Club of Clermont organized a Veterans Day tribute at Oak Hill Cemetery by placing 553 American flags on the graves of veterans and first responders to honor their service and sacrifice—Key Club students and community volunteers helped with the event. - ➤ On November 8, iClermont’s Veterans Day Parade honored military heroes in downtown Clermont as local groups marched at 10 a.m. Mayor Tim Murry led the parade as grand marshal and spoke at the Tribute Ceremony at the Highlander Pavilion at noon—families enjoyed activities and funds were raised for the Veterans and First Responder Memorial. - ➤ Lake Technical College named its October Students of the Month from programs such as Accounting Operations, Medical Assisting, Automotive Collision Technology, and more. The students were chosen for strong academics and community involvement and were honored with a certificate, a festive balloon arrangement—and a prepared lunch by the college culinary team.
