On November 8, the Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Waterfront Park, featuring military and first responder vehicles and classic cars that will travel along Montrose Street through Clermont and finish at the Highlander Building where a Tribute Ceremony will start at noon. The event will include family-friendly activities such as a Kid Zone and food trucks (organized by Robert Mock, CTMCM(SS) USN, Ret).

Downtown Clermont Harvest Festival will include The Animal League’s 17th Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade and Costume Contest on Oct 25 at City Hall Park—7th and Montrose, with registration beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the parade starting at 11:30 a.m.; entry fees will be $15 per pet if pre-registered, $20 on the day, or $5 for parade only.

Lake Technical College will host a Career TechXpo on November 3 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at its Main Campus in Eustis to showcase over 30 career and technical programs such as healthcare and culinary arts—prospective students can meet instructors and explore hands-on training.

Representatives from Lake-Sumter State College and Lake County Schools will share pathway and scholarship information.

On October 17th, Mascotte Mayor Steven Sheffield cut his long hair to donate to the Wigs for Kids organization and honor his late mother (a 30-year cancer survivor) during the Cruiser for the Cause fundraiser at Mascotte’s civic center.

The event featured food, bingo, live music (DJ Justice with the Omilasa Live Band), fire truck tours for children, and temporary barber support from Clermont Mayor Tim Murry.
