Publix will allow customers to openly carry guns in its Florida grocery stores after a state appeals court ruled the open carry ban unconstitutional — a spokesperson said the company will follow federal, state and local laws.
Other stores including Walmart, Target, Winn-Dixie, Sam's Club and Costco have requested customers not to bring firearms into their premises.

Tropical Storm Jerry will bring heavy rain, rough surf, and localized flooding along the coast today as wave heights reach 5 to 6 ft with gusts of 15 to 20 mph.
Clermont residents are experiencing light to moderate showers now, and officials say the storm—expected to strengthen into a hurricane by Saturday—may increase coastal hazards over the weekend.
🏛️ Government
Lake County Fire Rescue secured a $7.5M federal SAFER grant from Homeland Security to hire 36 firefighters over the next three years.
The grant — which will add a third firefighter to 10 trucks and six backfill positions — is expected to reduce overtime and burnout among current staff.
