  • Lake County musician Steve Ferrell has raised $35,651 at his 17th annual Lunchtime Concert—supporting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida as he continues to fight local hunger.  South Lake Tablet
  • Find, Feed & Restore hosted its Battle for Hope: Cops vs. Docs fundraiser at the Living Hope, Wesleyan Center where Clermont Police Chief John Graczyk led officers and AdventHealth Minneola’s CEO Kay Barnett rallied doctors to compete for funds that will support housing services aimed at ending homelessness in Lake County — the event combined friendly competition with a serious mission.  South Lake Tablet
  • Cooper Memorial Library is hosting a variety of programs this October—featuring activities for all ages such as LEGO Club on October 1, Club Maker on October 8, and Family Movie Day on October 11.   • Lake County leaders and 14 city officials met recently to discuss growth management strategies that address sprawl and traffic issues. They reviewed Joint Planning Agreements and Transfer Development Rights — a method to preserve open space while shifting development — and plan quarterly meetings to narrow the 700 million road construction funding gap.  WESH
