- ➤ South Lake Cares and Joni & Friends are hosting a wheelchair drive in Clermont on Saturday, September 14, and Saturday, September 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 2460 Hooks Street—Building 3, where donated wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and other mobility aids will be restored to help people gain independence. - ➤ Clermont will hold a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony Thursday, September 11 at 10 a.m. at the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center—guest speaker Sgt. Gopaul will share his first responder experiences during a program that includes the Public Safety Honor Guard, U.S. Naval Sea Cadets, and the City of Mount Dora Pipes and Drums Team—and a community reception sponsored by Mission BBQ.
