- ➤ The Clermont Woman’s Club held a New and Prospective Members Tea at their historic clubhouse where eleven new members and several guests enjoyed a light lunch and desserts—prepared by regular members with their own china. - ➤ Cooper Memorial Library is hosting a busy week of events for all ages—offering baby and toddler storytimes, a ukulele club meeting today from 3 to 5 p.m., and a LEGO Club gathering on Wednesday. Adults will attend board game day every Thursday and a Spanish Cuisine class on Thursday, September 18—adding varied learning opportunities for the community. South Lake Tablet
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, September 21, from 2 pm to 4 pm, the South Lake Florida SuBets Annual Bowling Tournament will be held at Clermont Bowling Center at 4 Westgate Plaza on SR 50. The event welcomes bowlers of all ages and abilities—registration fees are $20 per bowler with a sponsor or $25 without one and prizes will be awarded. South Lake Tablet
- ➤ The East Ridge High School girls cross country team won the Whispering Pines Invitational in a tie-breaker against Vanguard on August 30 at Whispering Pines Park in Inverness as senior Rhyen Foley and her teammates set new season bests.
