  • A Florida man was arrested on DUI manslaughter charges after he fled the scene of a deadly crash on Monday on Radio Road and Patrick Drive in Lake County—Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, Edward Custer from Leesburg, hit a 75-year-old pedestrian before a family member brought him back to authorities.  Fox 35 Orlando
  • The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Makenzie Kepka, a 16-year-old girl last seen Sunday on Grace Avenue in DeLand — she is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds, and was wearing a dark tank top with leopard print shorts while sporting blue eyes and dark brown braids.  News 6
  • The Lake County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding Makenzie Kepka, a 16-year-old girl who was last seen on Sunday at Grace Avenue in DeLand while wearing a dark tank top and leopard print shorts—she is described as a white teen with braided dark brown hair and blue eyes.  Fox 35 Orlando
  • A six-month investigation in Lake County that began with a citizen's complaint led detectives and SWAT to arrest 22-year-old Jartavious Coleman in Leesburg on Tuesday — officers seized drugs valued at $20,000 and nine firearms while charging him with multiple trafficking offenses with his court date set for Sept. 8.  News 6

  • Hurricane Erin is a Category 3 storm with 140 mph winds that is forecast to grow over the western Atlantic and bring heavy rain, dangerous surf and rip currents to Central Florida later this week. Current reports place it 600 miles southwest of Bermuda and predict wave heights of 4—6 feet affecting coastal areas.  WESH
