- ➤ Downtown Clermont hosted its annual Dessert Challenge on August 9 at the Historic Village, where residents sampled local treats and voted for their favorites — the Cookie Queen won first while Mama T’s Italian Desserts took second — and every entry received a free plant from Home Depot. Visitors can still tour the Historic Village on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a $5 donation for those over 12. South Lake Tablet
