  • Clermont’s Crossridge Exchange Plaza has become a new hub for dining and retail after Brooklyn Water Bagel opened its doors with a menu of bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and more—another sign of South Lake’s growing business scene. Several other restaurants such as Honey Baked Ham Co., Swig, Josie’s Pizza and Wings, and Pokemoto Hawaiian Poke are in operation while Kizuna Sushi & Hibachi, Another Broken Egg Cafe, and Parlor Doughnuts will open soon.  South Lake Tablet
  • Groveland-based Carroll Fulmer Logistics, which operated for 71 years including 31 in the area, is expected to close its doors in September. Local leaders said the closure may impact regional freight services and job opportunities in the trucking industry.  News 6

  • Lake County Schools will start the 2025-2026 school year with a 180-day calendar and schools in Clermont and nearby towns plan special orientation events with new safety steps as families shop for supplies and adjust routines.  South Lake Tablet
