- ➤ Families in Central Florida are easing back-to-school stress as free supplies are given out; Commissioner Bakari F. Burns in Orlando hosts two events while Altamonte Springs police and fire crews fill shopping carts with supplies. The second Orlando bash is happening today at 1 p.m. at the Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center and residents can donate school supplies until July 31—helping many local families manage school expenses. WESH
- ➤ The South Lake Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast on August 4 and 5 at the Wesley Center at Living Hope Church to celebrate more than 1,600 educators. Three local schools will receive $1,500 Office Depot gift cards while local groups donate prizes — including a designer purse, Margarita basket, wine bottles and Honey Baked Ham certificates.
