CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Deputies reported that Michael Connell’s bicycle was found at a Lake County intersection this week nearly two months after he went missing on May 29 (he had broken his leg in a vehicle accident and was last seen wearing a brown camo jacket and dark blue cargo pants) while detectives search for more information. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Clermont Police Department is using a new tool called Connect Clermont from Axon to register neighborhood cameras, which lets officers quickly know where cameras are located & contact owners when a crime is in progress. The system has integrated 23 registered cameras into its network of more than 660 cameras and was successfully tested at the recent 4th of July event. WESH
- ➤ Clermont police are urging homeowners and business owners to register their cameras online—this tool gives officers immediate knowledge of active systems during a crime. Capt. Malcom Draper said the system, first used at a 4th of July event, already includes 23 registered cameras and more than 660 integrated cameras. WESH
