Good morning, Clermont.

South Lake High School Football Team and FCA members volunteered at Southeastern Food Bank recently, packing a record number of food boxes—an effort that helped feed families across Central Florida.

South Lake Presbyterian Church at 131 Chestnut Street in Clermont will host free community events this summer.

The schedule includes a screening of the biblical film JONAH on Saturday, August 2 from 2–4 p.m.—a student piano recital on Sunday, August 10 from 12 noon–2 p.m.—and a Caribbean Sunday celebration with a light luncheon on Sunday, September 12 from 10 a.m.–12 noon.

The Champion Circle Youth Empowerment Program runs a summer series of educational workshops and sports challenges—helping local young men build skills and prepare for future careers.

Community leaders and mentors work with the students as they complete required volunteer service hours to boost self-confidence and plan for further education and trade opportunities.

Clermont Police will soon use a new real-time camera system from Axon Fusus that shows live views from public parks, schools and registered businesses to help respond faster during emergencies.

The program lets residents choose to share their camera feeds — the system does not show private home footage without permission.
