- ➤ Lake Community Arts has launched a new nonprofit to boost local arts with its flagship program, the Lake Community Choir, which will hold its debut rehearsal on Monday, August 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Clermont Performing Arts Center. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Invest 93-L moved across Florida on Tuesday and entered the Gulf, where forecasters say it may turn into a tropical depression later this week. Heavy rain and thunderstorms began on Tuesday in Central Florida—flood warnings were issued for some areas as heavy downpours hit. WESH

- ➤ City leaders in Eustis are reviewing a $100 million redevelopment plan by G3 C2 LLC that would reshape downtown with a new parking garage, apartments, townhomes, retail spaces and an 80-room hotel, with construction set to begin as early as next year. A public workshop is scheduled for July 18 — local business owners express concern that parking issues might hinder current operations. WESH
