ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Residents in Clermont expressed concern after multiple dangerous drivers caused accidents in the neighborhood on July 9th—FOX 35's Esther Bower reported that neighbors remained worried about more incidents. Fox 35 Orlando
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ After a 2-inch water main break on Tuesday at 34008 Hodges Road in Leesburg, the Florida Governmental Utility Authority issued a precautionary boil water notice for 473 customers and restored service just after midnight on Wednesday. The advisory remains until water samples test safe at a certified lab & customers are advised to boil water for one minute or use bottled water. News 6
- ➤ Lake County will update its 2050 Comprehensive Plan with three community meetings—on Monday, July 14 at 6 p.m. at Umatilla High, on Tuesday, July 15 at 6 p.m. at Venetian Gardens, and on Monday, July 21 at 6 p.m. at Aurelia M. Cole Academy in Clermont—so residents can share ideas that will guide policies for the next 10 to 25 years. South Lake Tablet
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Clermont is set for a big change along 12th Street as the old lumberyard was torn down to make way for a 12.3-acre mixed-use development that will bring up to 392 apartments and 55,000 square feet of entertainment space in phase one—phase two will add live-work spaces, a parking garage, and 130 more units near the South Lake Trail. Officials say the project may lead to increased traffic on the two-lane road at its main entrance and exit as the area grows. South Lake Tablet
