  • In honor of National Pet Fire Safety Day, the Orlando Cat Café will donate several pet oxygen masks to Lake County Fire Rescue, marking its sixth annual donation. A presentation ceremony (Tuesday, July 15) will be held (11:00 a.m.) at the Orlando Cat Café with representatives from Lake County Fire Rescue to highlight the initiative.  South Lake Tablet

CRIME NEWS

  • Police said a 14-year-old was shot Sunday night in a drive-by near a home on Glover Street in Eustis; the teen suffered a leg injury (non-life-threatening) and no arrests were made.  News 6

  • Today the Florida Department of Education released grades for the 2024—2025 school year showing Brevard: A — Flagler: B — Lake: A — Marion: B — Orange: A — Osceola: B — Seminole: A — Sumter: A — Volusia: A in several Central Florida school districts. The department also provided individual school ratings so parents can see how their child's school performed.  WESH
