- ➤ The City of Clermont will hold its annual Red, White — and Boom celebration on Friday, July 4 at Waterfront Park on 3rd Street from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The free event will feature live music, food trucks, and bounce houses — with fireworks lighting up Lake Minneola to end the evening. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Central Florida saw widespread storms yesterday when showers began at noon and intensified by mid-afternoon as sea breezes collided—gusty winds and lightning were possible under a level 1 out of 5 risk for strong to severe storms. WESH
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Clermont Police Department welcomed four new recruit graduates from Lake Technical College’s Institute of Public Safety Basic Recruit Class—Adrian Inoa, Brannon Schuster, Allison Sullivan, and Clay Urquhart—who received their patches and signed conditional offers of employment and will become full-time officers after passing the exam. Detective Aaron Clark and Officer Kelly Brown were also recognized for organizing the Annual Honoring the Fallen 5K that supports charities and fosters community ties. South Lake Tablet
