  • Robin Lynn Severance Lopez — wife of suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez — appeared in court Tuesday morning after being booked at Lake County jail on charges of conspiracy to commit racketeering and conspiracy to use or invest proceeds from racketeering.  FOX 35 Orlando

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Florida Power & Light spokesman Jack Eble told WESH 2 that customers in Clermont should check batteries, flashlights, and backup plans to prepare for potential outages during hurricane season; the company is pre-positioning crews and strengthening its grid to restore power safely and quickly.  WESH

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill on Tuesday morning in Santa Rosa Beach that removes state mandates and returns decision-making power over beach access to local governments. The law will ease restoration of eroded beaches in smaller Gulf Coast counties—money from the 2025‑2026 state budget is set aside to support these efforts.  FOX 35 Orlando
