- ➤ The Kiwanis Club of Clermont will host its 3rd Annual Taco Fundraiser on July 19 from 12 pm to 2 pm at Green Valley Country Club to benefit the Friendship Aktion Club at DreamPlex of Central Florida and The Miracle League of Lake County—both supporting the special needs community. - ➤ Dr. Steve Asman, a local family doctor and researcher, spoke at the Clermont Historical Society’s June meeting about his finds at Lake Louisa including a 3,400-year-old canoe and a World War II plane propeller discovered during a 2000 drought. He also introduced his new book on these discoveries and encouraged residents to learn more about local history at the Historic Village—open weekends. South Lake Tablet
