ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Northbound lanes on the turnpike near Clermont were blocked when a tractor trailer caught fire — the Florida Highway Patrol and tow trucks responded and reported no injuries. FOX 35 Orlando
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A man was arrested in his boxers after allegedly attacking a couple who work as tow truck drivers in Clermont, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Department and FOX 35. Fox 35 Orlando
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A new bill may change the 2-mile rule that currently prevents students living near school from riding the bus. The proposal, introduced on May 28th, could allow more Clermont students to access bus services if it becomes law. Fox 35 Orlando
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lake County Commissioner Anthony Sabatini urged the county to buy Far Reach Ranch in Tavares to stop a plan that may allow about 1,200 homes to be built on over 400 acres of farmland and wetlands. A community meeting is set for next Thursday (5:30 p.m. at the Tavares Civic Center) to discuss the proposal. WESH
