- ➤ The Lake Cares Food Pantry celebrated the opening of a new 22,000—square-foot building on Monday morning that will offer services like career help, cooking classes, insurance navigation, and medical resources to more people in Lake County. The facility, which can hold up to 505 pallets of food instead of 60, is expected to open to the public in the first week of June. News 6
- ➤ Homes for Our Troops held a fundraiser on May 5th at Tranquillo Golf Course to raise money for building accessible homes for disabled veterans (post-9/11). The nonprofit said the funds will support its next project to construct homes adapted for veterans injured while in service. Fox 35 Orlando
