South Lake County is set to grow with new dining, shopping and entertainment venues including a Sprouts Farmers Market at Hammock Ridge Commons and a Centra Care clinic — while fast-food chain White Castle and restaurants like Kizuna Sushi & Hibachi and Parlor Doughnuts begin new projects. Downtown Clermont will add more local spots including Sud’s Saloon Bottle Shop, Mullets Sports Bar and Liquor Store and Back 40 Wine Co., plus a transformative Lumberyard District project with 262 apartments and an open-air venue called The Sawmill — all promising expanded options for the community.

Lake County Rowing Association athletes stood out at the FSRA Sweep Championships held at Nathan Benderson in Sarasota—girls’ junior four earned a bronze medal with three novice rowers while the girls’ freshman four won their Petite Final and the boys’ pair and lightweight fours secured top 10 finishes. Coach Brian Elliott said the team’s hard work and strong teamwork promise a bright future for the association—adding to the impressive results across five events.
