- ➤ On April 12 in Clermont, deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person and found 39-year-old Eric Escobar pounding on a door; when he refused to follow commands and pulled a handgun, a deputy shot him, leaving Escobar dead and the officer on administrative leave pending review (by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office).
