- ➤ A substitute teacher at Lake Minneola High School was fired and given a misdemeanor citation on Monday morning after a physical altercation with a student (the student's parents declined to press charges) according to officials from the Lake County School District and Sheriff's Office. WESH

- ➤ Crews in Lake County responded on Monday to a brush fire that grew to 122 acres (50% contained) off Wiygul Road in Umatilla, prompting the road's closure. The fire burned in a rural area and did not threaten homes. WESH
