- ➤ Residents can watch the ancient Lyrid meteor shower continue until April 25 as meteors will streak across the night sky. The shower will peak on April 22 to 23 (with 10 to 15 meteors per hour if you choose a low-light spot) and requires no special glasses. WESH

- ➤ East Ridge High School student Jasmine Gaines has been awarded the $1,000 Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Scholarship for her academic excellence, leadership, and over 500 community service hours in the South Lake area. - ➤ Clermont officials declared April as Water Conservation Month after Mayor Tim Murry signed a proclamation on April 14. Local students led the Annual Drop Savers Poster Contest to showcase creative ideas that encourage everyone to save water. South Lake Tablet
