Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 15th of April.
Good morning, Clermont.
🏘️ Community
Jennifer Newmons said her quiet home in Yalaha was disturbed by loud bangs—she thought they were gunshots until she learned a nearby blueberry farm used propane cannons to scare birds.
The noise, which has been heard every day since early March, is allowed under local rules and the Florida Right to Farm Act.
🌲 Environment
The City of Clermont is hosting a free Earth Day event at Lake Hiawatha Park on April 19 that will include a community lake cleanup, environmental exhibits, a kids’ zone and a live DJ.
Volunteers must register with a signed waiver to join the cleanup while eco-conscious groups can reserve free vendor spaces — no sales will be allowed.
