  • A Lake County man, Christopher Gaffney, fired a rifle outside Skyline Apartments in Clermont while children played nearby—he said he was practicing target shooting after watching a military movie and was arrested by officers.  FOX 35 Orlando

  • Cooper Memorial Library has released its April schedule featuring a LEGO Grand Prix on April 2, weekly storytimes, creative writing club, STEM sessions, concerts, book club meetings and quilting gatherings, and an author talk with Usman T. Malik on April 3 – the programs are designed for children, teens and adults. The schedule aims to offer hands-on activities and quality discussions for the community.  South Lake Tablet

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • South Lake County will begin major road construction projects in 2025—26 to improve traffic flow and safety, including work on Citrus Grove Road, Hooks Street, Villa City Road and other key corridors.
